Lego Serious Play

The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology is designed to unlock employees’ full potential within organisations by encouraging participation, contribution, and commitment to solutions. Developed in 1996 by two professors at IMD in Switzerland and LEGO Group owner Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, it uses LEGO elements to create three-dimensional models of business issues and challenges. This approach helps in strategic planning and innovation by leveraging the creativity and imagination inspired by LEGO building.

In 2010, LEGO made the methodology open-source, allowing facilitators to use it without paying a license fee. This community-based model ensures that while LEGO guarantees the quality of the methodology and materials, the quality of workshop delivery is the responsibility of the practitioners.
